We left Madurai early this morning to enjoy the cool morning and miss all the city traffic. The sun rose so quickly!A favorite roadside breakfast. Flaky croissant dough filled with a hard boiled egg, a chili pepper, and something(s) else. Sometimes we eat three and two, R and I, respectively. I’m seven. This little one was curious and independent enough to grab her bike and catch up to us at a water break. No adult supervision to be seen.
Pastoral bliss. Turn up your volume to hear the cowbells.Zoom in on the mountain and you’ll see the temple of which Richard speaks in the previous video. The cows were in a field, just to the right of the path.
A little rest break and this auto rickshaw pulls up, music turned up! We got special permission to take a photo of these columns carved from a single stone inside the temple walls.Lime juice, soda water, and salt. A perfect little afternoon break. Sometimes our communication just misses the mark. There was no sugar possible for the soda, but then it was offered for my orange juice. The street side stall that made said lime and soda for Richard and a fabulous fresh orange juice for me.Sexy temple walls, different temple.Three religions will celebrate next weekend at the temple down the street of where we are staying. The party tent has been erected! More on the banyan trees in a future post. You’ll never guess what’s in the bags.
So enjoying following the adventures – the colors, the contrasts, the heat, the pool noodles, the minimalist Finn. Enjoying both your writings/perspectives and seeing footage/video/photos … there are just so many incredible layers!! Thank you for sharing your adventure and musings.
